Once again, our food was delicious. Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Paneer Marsala, Naan Bread. Authentic, spicy, and all so good. Owner was pleasant and friendly as always.
One of my favorite restaurants in the area! South Asian food is my favorite food, and this place does a fantastic job! Prices are great for what you get, and the place is a true gem. There's no seating, so it's really take-out only, but I'd gladly just eat it in my car for how good it is if I didn't already live fairly close to it!
Mahek is amazing. It has old school pizzeria vibes with a diverse and powerfully flavorful menu. The naan is served piping hot from the oven and offers chili and cheese options along with traditional butter and garlic. Every menu item we’ve tried is fresh, bursting with balanced spices, and simply delicious. They have lots of great options for Vegetarians. Service is attentive, accurate, and brusque, just like it should be in the setting. Portions come on the large side; excellent value for the price. Seating is limited to a counter with a few bar stools. It’s definitely designed for carry-out. This is a no-risk stop for top notch Indian food.
My DoorDash driver was running late and they stayed open so he could pick up my food. This was my first time. We enjoyed everything we got. The butter chicken was my favorite. The portions were large. Definitely will make a second dinner out of it.
First time customer: I placed an order through the website for pickup. When I arrived the business appeared closed, a boarded up window, locked, dark, chairs tipped over inside, a few dollars cash on the counter. Confused, I asked others if the place had closed and was told that no they were just drunk and sleeping in the restaurant. I waited 2 days and then called to see if I could pick up my order. I was told that all the food had to be replaced due to a power outage and they could make it tomorrow. When I called the next day I was told tomorrow again. The next time I called they were out of power again and I was told tomorrow for a third time. I called again and finally was told they were open and could fill the order but then an alarm started going off and he told me to callback in 5 minutes. At this point I just went to the restaurant to finish placing my order. I added an additional meal and they did not have change for a $20 so I had to wait extra for them to very slowly go next door and get it. I hoped based on reviews I read the food would make up for all this. The butter chicken was average at best and what finally did me in and caused me to write this review was my over charred naan. I will not be back.
Third time at this restaurant and they do not disappoint. This time I tried the Butter Chicken Poutine and when I say that it was beyond the description, that doesn't even justify the favor palette and the combination of fries and butter Chicken. Recommend 10/10 for this restaurant always.
I had the worst food experience at Mehek restaurant. The food was absolutely tasteless and overly tangy. They used leftover rice for the biryani, which made it completely unappetizing and far from what you would expect from a biryani. Chef should learn how to make biryani 😡😡. And first stop calling this as Biryani, using leftover white rice for biryani. See photos for your reference. I wish I can report this restaurant as worst Indian restaurant. Give my money back and take your pathetic food. I almost spend 140$ 😡😡😡😡😡 Every gravy dish we ordered was overwhelmingly tangy, making them inedible. The naan and roti were uncooked, and the texture was so raw that you could literally feel the flour while chewing. It was by far the most pathetic food I have ever had. I genuinely wish I could give them a negative rating for this disappointing experience. Definitely not recommending this place to anyone!
This review is coming from someone who’s never had Indian food before. The two guys at the front counter were very helpful. I told them that I never had this type of food before and they gave me some good choices. I ended up going with the butter, chicken and garlic naan bread with rice. All the food was hot and delicious. my only gripe is that I never got any silverware or napkins. But that could’ve been my fault. Overall, I would suggest going here if you’re looking to try Indian food or if you love Indian food already.
